About Ashley

Pronouns she/her

I believe that everyone has their own unique optimal state. My approach to mental wellness is holistic and trauma-informed. As a therapist, I rely on my personal authenticity to create an empathic, warm and nonjudgmental connection.

In therapy I combine mindfulness, Adlerian psychology, attachment and cognitive behavioural therapy to help clients reach their goals. We can also explore dreams and early memories in a no-nonsense way that's down-to-earth. As you increase self-awareness, you'll create new patterns in your life.

While I draw from many styles, we'll work together to find techniques that suit you and create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.

I see therapy as the crossroads between feeling stuck and finding new solutions to move forward in life.

Individuals in counselling can explore anxiety, perfectionism, mood, relationships, stress and confidence. You'll learn how to process emotions in a safe therapeutic space. Couples in therapy can explore their relationship in a safe and supportive environment based on mutual respect, trust and collaboration.

In the spirit of reconciliation, I acknowledge that I reside and provide services on the unceded ancestral territories of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking people and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh first nations peoples that was not surrendered. Here's how I'm taking action:

- I regularly seek education to increase cultural safety and humility when working and interacting with Indigenous Peoples
- Completed San'yas Indigenous Cultural Safety and Indigenous Canada course with University of Alberta
- I am a registered provider with the First Nation Health Authority (FNHA)

My counselling practice is gender, body, sexuality, and race inclusive. I regularly support and contribute to humane societies and gender inequality and girls' rights campaigns.

I hold a professional license as Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#15428). I am a trained EMDR therapist and I have also completed Level 1 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am also a certified Gottman Leader for The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work Couples Workshop. I am a registered provider for ICBC, FNHA & CVAP.
