I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#15428). I hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology degree from Adler University. I have completed Level 1 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy and I am a certified Gottman Seven Principles Leader.
I believe that a healthy mind and body help create healthy relationships. I also understand that each person has their own unique optimal state. My holistic approach to mental wellness integrates principles of relationship attachment with mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy. This helps to increase self-awareness and create new, adaptive patterns.
My counselling style allows freedom to explore dreams and early experiences in a way that is accessible and down-to-earth. Couples can safely explore relationship challenges in a supportive environment based on mutual respect, trust and collaboration that will help you get your relationship back on track.
I envision therapy as the crossroads between feeling stuck and finding new solutions to move forward in life. My areas of practice include: stress management, anxiety, depression & mood disorders, self-exploration, life transitions, relationship issues, grief & loss, goal setting/motivation and self-esteem.
A healthy, balanced and purpose-filled life can be achieved through increasing self-awareness, adjusting unhelpful patterns and becoming more connected with your surroundings. I see you as the expert of your life and highlight and build on your innate strengths to help guide you on the path to positive change. My approach to counselling relies on creating smart, attainable goals to build success upon success, and on holding space for the natural evolution that change may take.
As a counsellor, I rely on my personal authenticity and an empathic, warm, and nonjudgmental approach to help facilitate success. I respect and acknowledge that the services I provide take place on the unceded Indigenous territory of the Coast Salish peoples that was not surrendered. I am also a supporter of humane societies, women’s equality and the LGBTQ community.
