It has to be said — the robots are not humans.A It has to be said — the robots are not humans.AI cannot replace therapy. It’s atheoretical, it doesn’t adhere to any professional standards or code of ethics, it has no legal liability, no understanding of human development and how your life story fits within it, no psychological orientation, and it’s completely unqualified to provide advice because IT’S A GENERATIVE COMPUTER MODEL and not a human. (Duh!)Nursing couldn’t be done by a robot. Teaching can’t be done by TikTok shorts. And therapy sure as heck can’t be done by AI.🖐️

Someone asked me for my favourite breathing exerci Someone asked me for my favourite breathing exercise for reducing anxiety, and my answer was box breathing. In as little as two minutes, you can regulate your nervous system by closing your eyes and gearing down intentionally. This works whether your anxiety is low, medium or high and it’s also very effective for regulating your emotion if you feel stressed or angry.Give it a try the next time you’re feeling a little overstimulated.#BreathWork #TherapyTools #GroundingTechniques
I know the answer is yes. So give yourself a momen I know the answer is yes. So give yourself a moment to de-stress. 🤍Here’s what I’ve learned about stress:
• it doesn’t go away permanently
• the best thing you can do is learn to manage stress betterTaking time to reduce stress in the moment allows for a nervous system reset.Think of your stress capacity as being like a cup 🥛
Some days you start with an empty cup. Other days, the cup has less capacity from the start.
Every demand and task adds to the cup. Relaxation and stress reduction reduces what’s in the cup.So the aim of stress management is to make sure there’s always more room in the cup. When the cup is more than half full, seek strong support. Like opening up to friends, increasing stress reducing activities, even talking to a therapist.Feeling stuck in your stress cycle? Let’s talk about it.

I’m kicking it old school with the tool I used the I’m kicking it old school with the tool I used the most when I experienced high anxiety and panic attacks. Here’s how you ground yourself when you notice anxiety is ramping up. Try not to wait until you’re already in a panic.Sit in a comfortable seat with your feet on the ground or crossed legs. You can lie down if that feels comforting.
Take a deep breath.Go through this exercise at a calm, steady pace.#TherapyTools #GroundingTechniques #MillennialTherapist
Let’s all be gentle with ourselves because this is Let’s all be gentle with ourselves because this is our first time around. 🫶I sometimes use this phrase “everybody ages, but not everyone grows up.” Learning to mature, self-reflect, forgive oneself and be self-compassionate can be tough when we aren’t on our own sides, and when we have to reckon with our past mistakes and decisions. The clients who I work with consistently give me hope and inspire me with their wisdom, earnestness, resilience, and growth. If you’re self-reflecting, you can grow. Remember that you are worthy of your own love and respect. 🩷So, millennials, zillennials, Gen X, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha: what lessons would you add?🌿#SelfReflecting #MillennialTherapist #PersonalGrowth
