Are you in a long term relationship, engaged, or newly married and looking to build a strong foundation for your marriage?
Perhaps it feels like something is missing; something that could take your relationship from good to great.
Maybe you've grown tired from frequent arguments constantly and could use a break from the same old cycle of emotional ups and downs.
I'm excited to facilitate a two-day couples retreat hosted by Parallel Wellness on March 27 & 28, 2020!
Using research-proven methods, couples will learn and practice skills to:
- Make conflict work for your relationship - we're going to decrease conflict!
- Deepen intimacy & build trust to improve your commitment
- Identify your solvable and perpetual issues
- Strengthen the friendship in your relationship
- Collaborate more effectively to solve problems - the good kind of compromise!
- Communicate clearly and effectively - this includes listening too!
This workshop will be held on:
- Friday, March 27, 6 -9 pm &
- Saturday, March 28, 10 am - 1 pm
Couples that could benefit from this workshop includes: dating partners, pre-engaged, premarital and newlyweds; from young adults to seniors.
If you want to improve your relationship or just believe that your relationship could use better conflict management skills, this workshop is for you!
This intimate couples workshop is based on the internationally acclaimed research of Dr. John Gottman as presented in his New York Times bestselling book, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, which is a fantastic read.
This couples workshop has been offered across the United States, Canada and internationally by plenty of certified Gottman Leaders, and has helped to strengthen the relationships of tens of thousands of couples. The workshop is specifically designed to help couples improve their friendship and learn powerful communication and conflict management skills.
The workshop is not couples therapy. It does includes a healthy mix of lectures (I prefer to think of it as fun learning), demonstrations, videos and private couples exercises. The couples activities in the workshop are going to be fun and insightful for your relationship. And don't worry about sharing your personal problems in front of others- we don't do any group sharing at this workshop.
Each registration per couple includes:
- A copy of the book The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work
- Two Seven Principles couples workbooks
- A Love Maps Card Deck
- An Open Ended Questions Card Deck
- Light Refreshments to keep you energized
Couples that this workshop would not be well suited for include relationships with: severe relationship distress, emotional abuse, domestic violence, active addictions (e.g., alcohol, drug, gambling, sex, porn), serious mental health problems in one or both partners, single folks- sorry!
